EQUESTRIAN OBSTACLE TRAIL CHALLENGE
This is a wonderful trail ride experience enlivened with Challenging Obstacles (changed every year) sprinkled along the trail. Family Fun for All Ages! |
Obstacle Trail Challenge is an equestrian fundraising one-day event that is scheduled in January. The event is mapped out along the Equestrian Trails (the west side of the Park). The riders go out in staggered groups on the 16 mile trail. Obstacle Challenge Stations occur at regular intervals during the trail ride. (the rider can opt out of if rider wishes but will count as no points for that obstacle). The judge at the Obstacle rates the ease with which the horse & rider pair navigate the Obstacle. The horse & rider pair that collects the highest point total at the end of the day wins a Trophy for First Prize. Rider Divisions are broken down to Jr. and Sr. Age groups, broken down to Novice and Advanced divisions. Ribbons are awarded through 6th place. Hello Equine Obstacle Trail Challenge Registered Riders – First of all, thank you for registering to participate in this year’s Equine Obstacle Trail Challenge, sponsored by the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park and scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Due to a low number of registered participants as of posting this, the board of the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park has elected to cancel the event. Since this event, as are all of our events, is designed to support Lake Louisa State Park it has been determined that the event in its current form will be unable to fulfill this function. The low number of registration fees that have been received will be insufficient to cover the costs incurred in holding an obstacle trail challenge event. In addition, the hope for this year’s event was that it would serve as a fundraiser to cover the costs of repairing the bridge along one of our riding trails. We thank you all for your understanding and wish you a safe and happy holiday season. Sincerely, Christy Christy Conk President, Friends of Lake Louisa State Park, Inc. 7305 US Hwy 27, Clermont, FL 34714 352-250-4499 |
